Sheer Genius
Sheerly you can tell what this post is all about by the title? I just gave you a hint. It has to do with walking on that borderline...seductive versus slutty. Showing a bit of skin without going too far. But how far is too far? That always seems to be the question.
This Spring 2013 is all about that veiled, peekaboo look. Any shape or form. Show off that midriff and be a little daring, just go for it! This sheer goodness has been seen all over the runway, from Balenciaga, Haider Ackermann, Akris, Tom Ford, and many many more. I just HAD to try it out for myself.
Millau silk blouse TOPSHOP maxi skirt Nine West ankle booties Forever 21 envelope clutch
This look is considerably more tame than some of the looks I came across on the runway. Some of those designers really know how to take risks and dive right in. I wanted my look to keep the sheer idea yet still be wearable.
Leopard print is sexy, so these ankle booties were a must wear for this outfit. I have to tell you a secret, this TOPSHOP maxi skirt is actually on crazy sale in store (only $9.99) at Nordstrom. Bargain!! High slit maxis are great for two reasons; they are way easier to walk in and they are stinkin' cute! As for the blouse, I have struggled to figure out how to wear it for about a year, but now that this sheer trend is in...I can rock it like this :P Overall the look has some definite sex appeal, but its not too overt. Mission accomplished.

The Oscars 2013
Jessica Chastain |
Olivia Munn |
Charlize Theron |
Alicia Vikander |
These ladies nailed it; head to toe perfection. My winner for Best Dressed goes to Jessica
Chastain! She looks flawless in this dazzling nude number. This look is the definition of
old Hollywood glam! Shoutout to Olivia Munn who is divine in this couture red gown,
love. Charlize is killin' it n white. And I gotta love Alicia's classy and sweet lace dress.
Well done to this leading pack, definite STYLEistas.
The Worst Dressed Nominees:
Zoe Saldana |
Brandi Glanville |
Kristen Stewart |
Melissa McCarthy |
Anne Hathaway |
you look way, way better! Zoe Saldana, there are way too many details in this dress...pick
one! Brandi Glanville, whoever you are, cover up them boobies ASAP! This dress is
stunning from the waist down, but gosh. And what is the deal with Miss Stewart? She
looks like she didn't even want to be there. Her hair is literally everywhere and this gown
is ill-fitting. To you Melissa, I say fix that tease job and you are far too covered up!
Lastly, Anne Hathaway. Please show us how great you are, because this looks utterly
boring and it is upsetting me. Better luck next time ladies!
Thoughts? Would you agree or disagree with my choices?

One Pair of Pants: Two Ways
Three things I am loving for Spring: black and white, polka dot craze, and denim anything.
Black and white will be a major trend all season long so I am sure you will have to jump on board that train. Polka dots came back into play a few seasons ago and they are still roaring! I seriously can't get enough...any color or size. And lastly, you will be seeing this classic denim jacket all over the place. All colors, distressed or clean-cut, oversized or cropped. There is this great moto inspired bleached Rubbish one I have been eyeing, I think I am gonna have to get it!
If you haven't noticed, wedges make everything better in my style world. It's a fact. Your leg line instantly looks way better and I just love the extra height!
Hope you are enjoying this lovely Saturday :)

BnW
Get this: so after I went out and took the photos for this post, I was uploading them while listening to Pandora...and John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John came on. I find this quite perfect...can you say Grease Lightning? I basically got the chills. ;)
Forever 21 lace embroidered tee Current Affairs bold stripe sweater American Apparel leggings
Madden Girl platform sandals Vintage leopard bag DKNY watch Target cat-eye sunnies
Black and white is a major trend this Spring. As well as BOLD stripes, so I combined the two. Woohoo. And doesn't lace just scream Spring too? I love this little white tee with some embroidered lace on it...thanks F21. As for the Grease reference, I mean the end of the movie, Sandy is rocking some super shiny black leggings and a great back of heels. So yeah.
P.S. excuse the messy and completely undone hair today.
