Gone Fishin'

Every year my family schedules two visits to Green Valley Lake, once in the summer and the other in winter. We have been going my entire life...which means twenty years plus many more. The summer trip is all about fishing and hikes. Winter being sledding, snow ball fights, hikes, and of course family bonding.

This weekend was all about fishing, in three days we caught 46 trout and loved every second of it. Plus it is always fun to plan outfits ahead of time based upon the weather, what you will be doing, and comfort. I packed light and worked in the same pieces here and there.

Check out how beautiful it is!

I decided to wear this great little military inspired jacket I just got from BP Nordstrom by Rubbish, it has this fishing vibe about it to me...plus a classic button down and skinny jeans. How could you go wrong? If you want to take this look up a notch, pair it with a great pair of cat eye sunnies and some neutral authentic vans. Adorable.

Kryptonite

Fashion is my kryptonite. Its apart of my every day life; I wear it, I style it, I want it, I blog it, I work in it, I buy it. My knees go weak when I see that special piece that I just have to have. Do you have a similar obsession?

This is a silly song I came across on youtube, you may like it and there is a celeb guest in it...Cat Deeley from So You Think You Can Dance.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has begun by the way (today is day 1), which means new trends hitting the runway now that will be visible in Spring fashion! Love it.

Celeb Style: Selena Gomez

Celeb Style: Selena Gomez

This celebrity inspired look is super simple to accomplish and looks effortless. I feel like Selena Gomez's "go to" has got to be hoop earrings? Would you agree...? I never wear them, but I feel as though they are a timeless piece of jewelry that should be considered a "must have." I think I am gonna invest in a really nice pair, both silver and gold.

Happy rainy day here in the usual sunny Orange County!

Charlie Tango

Charlie Tango

So what does "Charlie Tango" really mean anyway? I know that it has some sort of military background...but that's all I've got. So that's where these army hotpants come in!

Pair these adorable 'lil things with a fun graphic cropped tee, some neutral boots with a vintage vibe (not shiny and perfectly clean*), a classic handbag with gold accessories. And don't forget about that uber cool, versatile blazer...I mean check that thing out. Its got a mix of chiffon on the sleeves and back panel and the norm everywhere else. How couldn't you like that?

Feeling a tad bit patriotic I suppose, seeing that it is Labor Day weekend.

One Denim Vest: Three Ways

One Denim Vest: Three Ways

This is a super fun look. Very bright and colorful! Let's just say those wedges are wild :) In order to show them off I chose a similar hue of purple for the pant, a simple white button down, and the ever so simple denim vest to add some sass. Accessories to match.

One Denim Vest: Way Two

Way two is more edgy...very Miley Cyrus right now (since her new hair cut). The round sunnies are a great addition to this hipster look. The denim vest keeps the edge going with an extra layer.

One Denim Vest: Way Three

Way three to me is a perfect Fall outfit. The colors describe the scenery change almost exactly. And this look encompasses a few of my top ten "needs" for this Fall; the denim vest, polka dots, and patterned tights! Major adorable.

Which look is more you? Way one, two, or my personal fave...three?

House of Holland: Fall 2012 RTW

"The House of Holland girl is cool, confident and savvy
and wears labels without letting them wear her."

Here is a bit of background on House of Holland: Henry Holland (shown below) graduated from the London College of Printing with a BA in Journalism and started a line of 'fashion groupies' tees that printed slogans like, "Get Your Freak On Giles Deacon". Two years later, House of Holland held its very first solo show at Fashion Week. Currently House of Holland has made a name for itself in the fashion industry across the world. It is featured in magazines and sold in major stores like Barneys.

I don't know about you but I am just loving this Fall Ready-to-Wear line. It has a great palette, rocking the color block look, and mixing classic shapes with the houndstooth print. I also die over their girl, she sounds so cool and fun to be around...who wouldn't want to be her?

Happy Wednesday!
